This is the most popular and largest of Barcelona's beaches it is busy and buzzy offering all types of services, such as lifeguards, Guardia Urbana, voluntary service that helps people with reduced mobility and much more. The neighbourhood of Barceloneta used to be a fishing district, where the locals now enjoy eating many types of fish dishes, seafood and tapas. We recommend a tour of the sea route from Port Vell to Barceloneta, this is a lot of fun and very interesting, although be prepared as it does get very crowded in the summer months.
